New Hampshire First State with Female Senate Majority

Thursday, November 06, 2008
New Hampshire became the first state in the history of the United States to have women form the majority of members of its state senate.  As a result of the 2008 election, 13 of the state's 24 senators will be female.  The governor of the state is also a woman, as are the Speaker of the House and the Senate President.
