John F. Clark served as the director of the U.S. Marshals Service from March 2006 until January 3, 2010.. Clark graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor’s of science degree. He worked for the U.S. Capitol Police and the U.S. Border Patrol before beginning his career with the U.S. Marshals Service. 
With the Marshals, Clark served in the San Francisco and San Jose offices before advancing to senior positions, such as chief inspector of the Internal Affairs Division and chief inspector of the International Fugitive Investigations Division. Additionally, he served for seven years in the Special Operations Group and later as acting marshal and Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Virginia. 
After leaving the Marshals Service, he accepted a job with Lockheed Martin as director of security operations for information systems and global solutions.
