Name: Preston, Steve
Current Position: Former Secretary
Steve Preston served as the 14th Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development from June 5, 2008 until the end of George W. Bush's presidency. Preston graduated from Northwestern University with a political science degree and received an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business. He also studied at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, Germany.
           
Preston’s career has included working as an investment banker at Lehman Brothers and then as a senior vice president and treasurer of First Data Corporation. Later, he became executive vice president of The ServiceMaster Company, where he also served as chief financial officer. Prior to taking over HUD, Preston served as the administrator of the Small Business Administration.
           
Preston currently serves as chairman of the board of visitors for the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern University, and he has served on numerous boards of philanthropic and other organizations.
