Name: Rosenfeld, Ronald
Current Position: Former Chairman
Ronald Rosenfeld graduated in 1961 from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, with a B.S. in Economics, and from Harvard Law School in 1964. Between 1964 and 1989 he worked in a variety of jobs in the private sector, primarily related to the development of single family homes, apartments, and condominiums, as well as shopping centers. He was also involved in investment banking and held the position of executive vice president at Prescott, Ball and Turben Inc., a Cleveland-based subsidiary of Kemper Financial Corporation. From 1989 to 1991 Rosenfeld held three posts at HUD: General Deputy Assistant Secretary for Housing-Federal Housing Commissioner; Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Multi-Family Housing; and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Single-Family Housing. After that, from 1992 to 1993, he was Deputy Assistant Secretary for Corporate Finance at the Department of the Treasury. From 1995 until 1998 Rosenfeld held the office of Secretary of Commerce in Oklahoma, and from July 2001 to December 2004 he served as President of Ginnie Mae, the Government National Mortgage Association, before becoming Chair of FHFB in December 2004,
 
Since he began serving as FHFB Chair, Rosenfeld has donated his salary to the Walter Reed Society, to help assist wounded warriors and their families while they’re receiving care at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
 
Rosenfeld is a member of the Smithsonian Institution National Board and the Smithsonian National Zoological Advisory Board.
 
He is also a long-time contributor to Republican party campaigns, including George Bush for President; Tom Cole for Congress in Oklahoma; Kirk Humphries for the Senate in Oklahoma; Ernest Istook for Congress in Oklahoma; Catherine Heller Keating for Congress in Oklahoma; Rick Lazio for Senate in New York; Mel Martinez for Senate in Florida; John McCain for President; Peter Hills Monroe for Senate in Florida; Fred Morgan for Congress in Oklahoma; Mitt Romney for President; Michael Steele for Senate in Maryland; Julius Caesar Watts Jr. for Congress in Oklahoma; the Conservative Opportunity Leadership and Enterprise Pac; and the Republican National Committee.
